ALPHA OMEGA FOUNDATION

Who We Are

The Alpha Omega Foundation is a division of the Alpha Omega Mission NPC (not-for-profit company). Our primary focus is on the implementation of God’s love in society, which includes educating, housing, feeding and uplifting those who most need help. To assist in reaching these objectives, we founded the Light of Hope Homes and Schools NPC and ServeSA Communities NPC, both of which serve as delivery partners of the Alpha Omega Mission.

The primary donors of the Alpha Omega Foundation are the Entelect group of companies, while our secondary donors include Entelect spin-off companies ServeSA Trading and MyActive Online, both of which are fully owned by our not-for-profit companies.

Housing

The Alpha Omega Foundation’s Light of Hope Homes in South Africa have become home clusters where men, women and children live in separate homes, but form part of the same programme. Each person who is housed in a Light of Hope Home, be it through a loss of shelter, unemployment, abandonment, addiction or any other affliction in their lives, is treated with kindness and compassion in a loving and nurturing environment. All are encouraged to better themselves and to do this, we focus on spiritual growth in Christ’s love, skills development, community engagement and workplace projects to help with the facilitation of long-term employment opportunities. Because we take care of the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our beneficiaries in accordance with the teachings of Christ, our success rate is very high, even for the most difficult cases, which include helping in the recovery of hardened criminals, drug addicts and those with psychological afflictions that go against the twelve fruits of the Holy Spirit, which have been promised to all of God’s children.

Feeding

We currently run a number of soup kitchens and feeding schemes in Gauteng and the Northern Cape, including a farming initiative in the Eastern Karoo that directs all of its harvest to the poor. In some areas, wherever possible, our Light of Hope Homes’ beneficiaries are involved in the packing, preparing and serving of food to the larger community. When we deliver hampers and set up soup kitchens, we also use these opportunities to hand out brochures and books published by the Alpha and Omega Mission to teach people God’s way and to create an opportunity for them to seek further support through our Foundation.

Educating

The Alpha Omega Foundation’s not-for-profit charities oversee a number of IT training centres in low-income areas throughout South Africa where hundreds of students attend for no charge every year. The primary areas of focus are to teach basic computing and to help to open the door for further studies, job creation and employment in those areas. At the Light of Hope Homes and Schools we run skills-development programmes, community-development projects, home schools, nursery schools, crèches and day-care centres for children in low-income areas. Wherever possible, we partner with local Catholic churches to help to bring the Alpha Omega Schools teachings, the Holy Sacraments and prayers to these centres.

Uplifting

Where we can, the Alpha Omega Foundation is there to give a helping hand to those who are experiencing financial or other difficulties in their lives. We offer assistance in the form of study grants, social support grants, mentorship or counselling and prayer support. Headquarted in Johannesburg, South Africa, our volunteer prayer team spends many hours a week in one-on-one counselling sessions, teaching and praying over people who need help. We assist people who are suffering from any form of affliction, be it from addictions, depression, loneliness, despair, divorce, broken homes, insecurities, abuse, trauma, infirmities as well as emotional, mental and physical illnesses of any kind. We also work with priests who volunteer their time to assist in hearing Confessions, which form an important part of the healing process.
